The wind is my breath
The mountains are my bones
The forests are my thoughts
The stars are my dreams
The ocean is my heart
It’s pounding is my pulse
The songs of the Earth
Write the music of my soul.
Mighty dead and ancient ancestors:
When you were born
The earth become your body
The stone became your bone
The sea became your blood
The Sun became your eye
The Moon became your mind
The Wind became your breath
When you passed into the Other world, your breath became the wind, your mind became the moon, Your eye the Sun, your Bone the stone, Your body again became the earth.
In this vast, mysterious universe, in the continuum of time, we recognize those who came before, reaching back into the depths of history, as one with us, their bones are our bones we are all one with the stones, their breath is our breath we are all one with the wind, their blood is our blood we are all one with the sea, their eyes are our eyes we are all one with the sun, their minds are our minds we are all one with the moon, their bodies are now our bodies we are all one with the earth..
Mighty dead and ancient ancestors, when you were born,.You called forth the earth and stones, the sea arose and the Sun descended. The Moon shone and the Winds sang! For those who come after we shall do as you did.
In this vast, mysterious universe, in the continuum of time, we recognize those who will come after us, reaching deep into the future, as one with us, their bones are our bones we are all one with the stones, their breath is our breath we are all one with the wind, their blood is our blood we are all one with the sea, their eyes are our eyes we are all one with the sun, their minds are our minds we are all one with the moon, their bodies are now our bodies we are all one with the earth
Ancestors who came before us, we honor you, Descendents who come after, we honor you. From the deepest depth of ancient time, to the farthest reaches of the future, we honor you. We are all as one in the sacred spiral. . (based on a prayer by Rev Michael J Dangler)
